When I was in high school my mom was diagnosed with severe heart issues that required her to get a pacemaker. Since then she has continued to have to carefully monitor her heart health and we had a major scare as recently as last year.
Without the work of places like the AHA to advance research into treatment and prevention of heart disease, I would have lost my mom as a teenager. I know I am one of the lucky ones. Everyone either has lost someone, or knows someone who has lost a loved one to a heart attack or stroke. It's incredibly common. But it doesn't have to be this way forever.
I am proud to be raising funds to help the AHA! Please donate whatever you can. Thank you so much.
