I walk in honor of my father, Kent, and my younger brother, Casey. My father suffered a stroke and passed away shortly after Casey, who was a healthy and active runner. Casey mistook the signs of a pulmonary embolism for a charley horse and passed away shortly after his run. I walk to honor them both and to raise awareness that can help save others.
Forever grateful to the Belton first responders, the donor coordinators with Southwest Transplant Alliance, medical providers at Baylor Scott & White in Temple, and stroke team at Ascension Seton Medical Center Austin.
Donations mean more CPR trainings and breakthroughs in research. Together, bystanders become lifesavers.
