Please help me in my support of the American Heart Walk to fight heart disease. One of my dearest and best friends, Barb, was told after the delivery of her first child that she had postpartum cardiomyopathy, over 34 years ago. She is one of the most amazing women I know. She continues to be positive and rarely complains about her condition.
I am also walking for numerous friends and family that have coronary artery disease, atrial fibrillation, and stents. My sister-in-law, Chaudet, had open heart surgery and surgery for aortic stenosis 5 years ago. She did not have any symptoms when she went in for a routine check-up for blood pressure medications and an echocardiogram. The results of her check-up and echocardiogram led to more testing and surgery. Chaudet is doing well now.
I lost both of my parents at a young age. My mom died of a heart attack 39 years ago, and my father died of a ruptured thoracic aortic aneurysm 37 years ago. I miss them both so much. My family and children have missed out on so much by not getting to know them.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my story, and please consider donating to the American Heart Walk.
