I am excited to be nominated for the American Heart Association's Leaders of Impact campaign. As part of this year's class of changemakers, I am dedicated to making a lasting impact on the health of our community, and I hope I can count on your support!
Despite significant advances, cardiovascular disease remains the leading cause of death in the U.S., claiming nearly 2,500 lives every day. However, with proactive screening and personalized preventive health strategies, together, we can significantly reduce mortality rates and improve long-term heart health outcomes.
My campaign focuses on the power of early detection, prevention, and community health, particularly among those at highest risk. In my roles as Chief of Cardiology at Mount Sinai West and Associate Director of the Cardiovascular Institute at Mount Sinai Fuster Heart Hospital, I engage with patients every day providing hands-on care with a focus on early detection and prevention.
I am particularly proud to lead Mount Sinai's First Responders Hypertension Program, which addresses the significant hypertension and cardiovascular disease challenges faced by firefighters. This work is supported by The Atria Health Institute and other generous donors, enabling us to combine early risk stratification and AI-driven health monitoring, we are identifying first responders at risk and offering them tailored, proactive interventions. Utilizing Omron's cutting-edge cuff technology, we're monitoring firefighter health in real time, addressing the occupational stressors that make them vulnerable to heart disease.
Mount Sinai West is at the bleeding edge of cardiovascular care, integrating artificial intelligence, machine learning, and quantum sensing technologies. By leveraging OpenAI, Anthropic, and SandboxAQ technologies we are reshaping how heart disease is predicted, diagnosed, and treated.
As a doctor dedicated to community health, I make myself available to my patients and am actively involved in outreach initiatives to improve health and well-being in the community. I am deeply honored to be recognized for these efforts. The American Heart Association excels in educating and reaching out to communities, empowering individuals to take charge of their health. That's why I am proud to be part of this mission to make a difference, both locally and nationally.
With your support, we can harness the power of innovation to save lives.
