Nine out of ten people who suffer cardiac arrest outside of the hospital do not survive. In many of those cases, bystander CPR was not performed. But I’ve seen firsthand that this can be changed.
A couple of years ago, I performed CPR on my neighbor during a cardiac emergency. Because CPR was started immediately, he survived and was able to spend more time with his family. It gave him something incredibly meaningful - more time. It reinforced just how critical CPR training truly is.
Cardiac arrest can happen at work, in homes, on athletic fields, and in our own neighborhoods. In those moments, the readiness of everyday people can mean the difference between life and death.
I Walk to Saves lives. Help me reach my goal and turn more bystanders into lifesavers.
