2026 Birmingham Heart Walk
Heart Walkin' with Kelli
My heart journey isn’t just something I support — it’s something I live.
I am a heart survivor. Being born with a congenital heart disease and walking through my own health challenges has changed me forever. It gave me a deeper appreciation for every heartbeat, every ordinary day, and every moment with my family and friends. Every day is a blessing that I don't take for granted.
What I know now is that the treatments, research breakthroughs, and standards of care that helped save and sustain my life were made possible through the work of the American Heart Association.
The medications.
The guidelines my doctors followed.
The lifesaving research.
It's all because people choose to give. People choose to walk. People choose to care.
That’s why working for the American Heart Association is not just a job for me — it’s personal. It’s purpose. It’s my gratitude in action, and I'm truly honored to do so.
Every day I get to support a mission that directly impacts families like mine. I get to help raise awareness so that other women, mothers, daughters, and families recognize symptoms sooner. I get to advocate for healthier communities. I get to be part of the solution that has helped save me.
I am fortunate. I am grateful. I am blessed. By the grace of God I am living proof that this work matters.
Now I’m inviting you to walk with me!
Join my Heart Walk team not just because I work there — but because I'm a survivor. Because someone’s mother, brother, child, or friend is fighting right now. Because research still needs funding. Because heart disease is still the leading cause of death — and together, we can change that.
Walk in support of survivors.
Walk in honor of loved ones.
Walk in memory.
Walk in hope.
And if you’re not able to walk, please consider making a donation on my behalf. Every dollar helps fuel research, education, and lifesaving programs that give people like me a second chance.
My heart beats today because of this mission.
Will you help me keep it beating for others?
