I'm a survivor of cardiomyopathy. This is where the left ventricular wasn't pumping blood efficiently to my body. I had annual echocardiograms to monitor the ejection fraction which is how well the ventrical is pumping. In addition, I had a handful of stress tests to check the heart strength. After 10 years, I had 4 years of excellent echocardiograms, my doctors took me off the medications and no more office visits or tests. I'm grateful to all the cardiologists and technicians who cared for me. Now I work to take better care of my heart and this heart walk is one opportunity to do so.
However, my mom had cardiac arrest and contributed to her failing health eventually taking her life.
Cardiac arrests happen at work, in homes, on athletic fields and in neighborhoods everywhere, and the readiness of our community can be the difference between life and death.
It's time to unite, take action, and save lives. Every dollar donated, means more people trained in lifesaving CPR, more research and more lifesaving moments for everyone. Together, we can turn bystanders into lifesavers.
I Walk to Save Lives. Help me reach my goal today.
