I walk in memory of my Dad who had his first MI 25 years ago while outside in the yard at our home, He made it inside, told Mom to call 911 that he thought he was having a heart attack and to give him an aspirin, before the ambulance got to the house. He coded twice in the ambulance before they pulled over at the Rainbow Valley Fire Dept. and had him air lifted to a Banner hospital. He had 7 stents placed after being on an intra arotic balloon pump for two days. He then ended up with a Quadruple Bypass, a pacemaker/defibrillator and a Barostimulator over the next 20 years before passing away 5/1/25.
9 out of 10 people who suffer cardiac arrest outside the hospital die. In most of those cases, bystander CPR was not performed. But we can change this.
Cardiac arrests happen at work, in homes, on athletic fields and in neighborhoods everywhere, and the readiness of our community can be the difference between life and death.
It's time to unite, take action, and save lives. Every dollar donated, means more people trained in lifesaving CPR, more research and more lifesaving moments for everyone. Together, we can turn bystanders into lifesavers.
I Walk to Save Lives. Help me reach my goal today.
