My husband and I are nurses that have spent our whole careers caring for critically ill children, many that were born with congenital heart defects. Most recently very dear friends lost their 22yo son after his very long and courageous battle with congenital heart disease. We are walking for all the children we have cared for, for all those still battling, but specifically for Marshall Toro, a young man who was compassionate, caring and left his mark on this world in a short time. We are giving back in his honor.
