Cardiovascular Disease (CVD)
- 53.2% of Hispanic males and 38.6% of Hispanic females (ages 20+) had CVD between 2021–2023.
- In 2023, CVD caused 36,512 deaths in Hispanic males and 30,067 in Hispanic females.
Coronary Heart Disease (CHD)
- In 2023, CHD caused 16,095 deaths among Hispanic males and 10,024 among Hispanic females.
Stroke
- Stroke caused 6,564 Hispanic male deaths and 7,514 Hispanic female deaths in 2023.
Heart Failure
- In 2023, heart failure was the underlying cause of death for 2,561 Hispanic males and 2,652 Hispanic females.
High Blood Pressure
- Between 2021–2023, 51.5% of Hispanic males and 37.3% of Hispanic females (20+) had high blood pressure.
Physical Activity
- Only 16.3% of Hispanic youth (ages 6–17) met the recommended 60 minutes of physical activity daily.
National average: 19.5%.
Diabetes
From 2021–2023:
- 11.7% of Hispanic males and 14.3% of Hispanic females had diagnosed diabetes.
- 51.3% of Hispanic males and 30.4% of Hispanic females had prediabetes.
- In 2023, diabetes caused 6,898 Hispanic male deaths and 5,164 Hispanic female deaths.
