Heart disease, cardiac arrest, and stroke can happen to anyone, anywhere, at any time. My family experienced that reality in October 2025 when my dad—just one day before turning 70—underwent open-heart surgery for a triple bypass following a cardiac event he had suffered earlier.
We were grateful the surgery was considered successful, but we are learning recovery is a journey. Four months later, he is still working hard in rehabilitation, trying to regain his strength and return to normal life. It hasn’t been easy, but he is determined.
I walk to support the research, education, and lifesaving work that gives families like mine hope. I walk for stronger hearts, better recoveries, and more time together.
I walk for my dad’s full recovery.
