Truncus Arteriosus is a rare, critical congenital heart defect where a single blood vessel (truncus) leaves the heart instead of two, leading to oxygen-poor and oxygen-rich blood mixing. This congenital heart defect occurs in approximately 1 in every 10-14,000 live births. 

 

Our girl has undergone several open heart surgeries early in her life. We walk to raise money for children and their families diagnosed with congenital heart defects, just like Evie.
