2026 Capital Region Heart Walk & Run
Buzzin for Brooklyn
Brooklyn was born with a congenital heart defect called pulmonary valve stenosis—a condition that made it harder for her tiny heart to pump blood to her lungs. At just 8 days old, while in the NICU, she was diagnosed and initially labeled “a mild case.” But by the time she was 3 months old, that “mild” case had progressed to severe.
At just four months old, she underwent a balloon valvuloplasty, a procedure that helped open her valve and give her heart the chance to work the way it should.
Watching your baby go through something like that is something no parent is ever prepared for. There were moments of fear and uncertainty, but also incredible strength, resilience, and hope. Today, Brooklyn continues to grow, thrive, and remind us every day just how strong she is.
We’re participating in this fundraiser in her honor and in support of all the children and families affected by congenital heart disease. The American Heart Association plays a vital role in funding research, advancing treatments, and supporting families like ours.
If you’re able to donate or share, it truly means the world to us. Every contribution helps move us closer to a future where more children like Brooklyn can live long, healthy lives.
Thank you for supporting our team—and for supporting Brooklyn
