Exercise is one of the best things a person can do for their body. The best part, it's controllable. There are so many things in life that we just cannot control, but one thing that we can control is how much we exercise. Exercise really is one of the best things we can do for our body that does not require taking a pill!
There are so many benefits to regular exercise including: increased energy, decreased resting blood pressure, increased mood, and lowered resting heart rate. Just to name a few.
To get these health benefits a person should aim to exercise at least 150 minutes/week of moderate intensity exercise. Ideally broken down into 30 minutes of continues aerobic (walking, running, jogging, cycling, etc.) exercise per day for 5 days/week.
Join me and the UHS Cardiac Rehab team at the Southern Tier Heart Walk Sunday April 26th, 2026 and help encourage people to be more active and exercise more.
I walk because exercise is medicine!
