I was diagnosed with Cargiogenic shock in March of 2025 and received an LVAD on April 1, 2025.
Cardiogenic shock is a life-threatening condition where the heart suddenly cannot pump enough blood to meet the body's needs. Mine was a result of heart failure due to chemotherapy, radiation and hormone targeted therapy.
In 2006, my father died of a heart attack and prior to that my uncle died of a heart attack.
