I had a Right Ischemic Stroke May 2017 at age 45. The stroke affected 3 of my lobes in my brain. The frontal, temporal and parietal lobes as well as the function of my left side and some other issues. I don't let it stop me! My Dad was 45 when he had his first heart attack and followed by several years of surgeries of bypasses and 28 stents! That's right 28 stents!! After struggling with congestive heart failure and other health issues he has passed on in 2022 and is no longer in pain. My younger sister and my only sibling died at age 48 of a heart attack in 2022. My husband had a valve replacement in 2012, went into cardiac arrest in 2012. (more on his story later). Have many relatives and friends that have also had heart issues and strokes. I walk because I know that with every step, I’m making a difference in someone’s life. And when combined with a million other Heart Walk Heroes across the nation, we have an even greater impact toward curing heart disease and stroke. Will you be a Heart Walk Hero with me?
