As I get older, I am constantly reminded of how fragile and short life truly is. In 2001, I lost my father to a heart attack after watching him endure years of complications from diabetes, kidney disease, and heart disease. I saw firsthand how these illnesses slowly took their toll—not only on his body, but on our family as well.
His journey left a lasting mark. It is why I walk—to honor his memory, to raise awareness, and to stand beside those who are fighting these battles every single day, and the families who fight alongside them.
