I work in cardiology, but this isn’t just my job - it’s my life.
I’ve seen what heart disease can do, both at work and at home. I lost my father to it, and it’s something that runs in my family. That kind of loss changes you. It sticks with you.
But I’ve also seen the other side of it. In 2025, my father-in-law was given a second chance because of the incredible team at UR Medicine. Because someone was there. Because care was immediate. Because people were ready.
Not everyone gets that chance.
9 out of 10 people who suffer cardiac arrest outside of a hospital don’t survive. And so often, it’s because no one nearby knew how to help.
That’s the part that gets me. Because it doesn’t have to be that way.
Cardiac arrest doesn’t wait for the “right” place or time - it happens in living rooms, at work, on sidelines, in everyday moments. And in those moments, a bystander can become the difference between life and death.
That’s why I’m walking.
For my dad.
For my family.
For the families who don’t get a second chance - and the ones who still can.
Every dollar helps train more people in CPR, fund research, and give someone else the chance my family almost didn’t have.
I Walk to Save Lives.
If you can, please help me reach my goal. â¤ï¸
