I am participating in the American Heart Walk in honor of my brother, Adam, whom I lost at just 49 years old to coronary thrombosis. His loss changed my life forever, and walking is my way of keeping his memory close while helping raise awareness about heart disease and the lives it takes far too soon. I walk with love, grief, and hope that through greater education, support, and research, other families might be spared the heartbreak of losing someone they love too early.
