2026 Capital Area Heart Walk
Team Jackson Pixley
Jackson was known for his optimistic attitude and free spirit. He was someone people gravitated toward—full of life, and never failing to bring energy, love, and laughter to everyone around him. He had a way of making everyone feel valued and special, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew him.
He loved his fraternity brothers, who are now coming together to form this Heart Walk team in his honor. Jackson also had a passion for boxing, baseball, and golf—interests that reflected his energy, determination, and love of life.
Jackson was diagnosed with Wolff-Parkinson-White Syndrome at the age of 15. At just 19 years old, without warning, he passed away from sudden cardiac arrest related to this condition. There were no obvious signs, no clear indicators, and no reason to believe anything was wrong. In the days that followed, grief was paired with confusion—and eventually, with a growing awareness of how silent and overlooked heart rhythm disorders can be.
His loss has deeply impacted his family, friends, and community, but his legacy continues to live on in a powerful way.
We are walking in Jackson’s honor to raise awareness about sudden cardiac arrest and heart conditions that often go undetected. We walk to support lifesaving research, education, and access to CPR and AED training—because in critical moments, Every Beat Matters.
Through this walk and the work being done in his name, we hope to empower others to be prepared to take action and help save lives.
We are proud to walk for Jackson—to remember him and to carry his impact forward with every step.
