My mother Carolyn Cheeseboro Worthy had a massive heart attack during Covid in 2020. She had to have major open heart surgery and then another major open heart surgery in 2023. Had she known the symptoms women experience are different from men, these surgeries could have been prevented. Unfortunately my mother and many of my family members suffered from heart disease. My mom sadly passed away in 2023 after her second heart surgery. My mother was the heart of our family and she is what still keeps us going. We want to raise money to raise awareness about heart disease in both men and women. Heart disease has greatly impacted our family . So we proudly walk for my mother and our family members.

9 out of 10 people who suffer cardiac arrest outside the hospital die. In most of those cases, bystander CPR was not performed. But we can change this.
