Ian’s heart story began at birth, diagnosed with Coarctation of the Aorta and a bicuspid aortic valve. At just two weeks old, weighing a little over 3 pounds, he underwent open heart surgery. He was so small he could fit in the palm of his father’s hand—but from the very beginning, Ian proved to be a true warrior.
On April 12, we lost Ian suddenly at just 24 years old. Our hearts are forever changed.
Today, we walk in his memory. We walk to honor his life, his strength, and the love he gave to those around him. And we walk with purpose—so the American Heart Association can continue to fund research, improve care, and help others facing heart conditions like Ian’s.
Thank you for walking with us, remembering Ian, and helping create a future with healthier hearts.
