My “why” for walking is deeply personal.
I have a strong family history of cardiovascular disease. I’ve lost my two big brothers, Jimmy at 61 and Tommy at just 46. I lost my big sister Ginny at 60, and my dad at 62. For a long time, I walked in their memory — to honor their lives and the lives cut too short by heart disease.
Recently, my “why” changed.
I was diagnosed with coronary artery disease and underwent a heart catheterization that required intervention, including the placement of three drug‑eluting stents. Suddenly, this fight became personal in a new way. I’m walking not only for the family I’ve lost, but for myself — and for all the women out there who may be experiencing symptoms like mine and don’t yet realize what their bodies are trying to tell them.
I walk because we all matter.
It’s time to unite, take action, and save lives. Every dollar donated means more people trained in lifesaving CPR, more research, and more moments where a life is saved instead of lost. Together, we can turn bystanders into lifesavers.
I walk to save lives.
Please help me reach my goal today.
