My heart goes out to those with cardiac disease. Personal family is affected by this disease and it makes me very aware of how important heart health is. It also affected me in a way I never thought it would. When my son was born, he was immediately taken to the cardiac NICU. He was diagnosed with neonatal bradycardia, PFO and arrhythmia.

This was terrifying because I didnt know what would or could happen. Multiple EKG's, Echos, cardiology and electrophysiology consults, lab draws, and continuous cardiac monitoring for the entire 4 days I was admitted. Having this experience made me realize exactly how fragile our cardiovascular system is and how much it truly affects our well-being when it is not functioning properly.
