At just 2 days old Ayden was rushed to children's hospital with low oxygen levels. Doctors discovered he had Transposition of the Great Arteries-a rare and serious heart defect where the two main arteries leaving the heart are switched.
Years prior, this condition might have been fatal within days. But thanks to decades of research funded by the American Heart Association, doctors knew exactly what to do, so at just 5 days old Ayden underwent open-heart surgery-a complex repair that was once impossible.
Today, Ayden is finding new passions and living life to the fullest. He runs, laughs, and lives a life of adventure, all because of the advances made through heart research.
When people donate to the AHA or participate in fundraising events, they help fuel discoveries like this-giving cardiac kids like Ayden a second chance at life.
We are blessed beyond measure to have Ayden here with us today and we praise God for his goodness!
