I got involved with AHA for the first time when a nephew of mine was only a few days old and upon discharge after birth it was detected things were not right so he was rushed to Children's for his first open heart surgery for a birth defect. His parents created a team, we walked/ran to raise money then and I am happy to say he is 12 years old and doing well. His life and my family’s life were forever changed in 2014 and we are thankful we have access to amazing heart surgeons and care right here at home in Cincinnati!
