On August 5, 2021, my life changed in an instant when I suffered a heart attack while at work. What could have been a tragedy became a story of hope, thanks to the quick actions, support, and care of my incredible coworkers at UT Southwestern Medical Center.

Because of them, I was given a second chance. I have been able to celebrate more birthdays, make more memories with family and friends, and enjoy what I often call my "bonus years" of life.

Participating in the American Heart Association Heart Walk is my way of honoring the people who helped save my life and supporting the research, education, and resources that help others survive heart disease and stroke. Every donation helps fund lifesaving work and gives hope to individuals and families facing similar challenges.
