I don’t usually post asking for donations, but this one is personal.
This year marks two years without John Veader in our lives. Life hasn’t been the same without him. After his first heart attack at just 34, my dad faced years of heart issues—stents, surgeries, even implanted devices—but none of it stopped him from being who he was: funny, dedicated, and the life of every party.
This year, I’ll be walking with my coworkers in the American Heart Association Heart Walk in Dallas in his honor. As a company team leader, I’d love for anyone who knew and loved my dad to join us on October 17.
If you can’t make it, I’m asking for your help in another way—my goal is to raise $1,000 and become our team’s top walker.
The ultimate salesman, my dad would’ve cornered you in an elevator and shaken you down for the change in your pocket just to hit his goal. I’m only asking for a dollar for every time he made you laugh, cry, or laugh so hard you cried.
I know there’s at least $1,000 worth of John Veader laughs out there. There’s certainly been $1,000 worth of tears over the last two years.
Thank you for helping me honor him.
