My congential heart defect has always been part of my story. But it has never defined it.
My name is Emma Grace, and I was born with Pulmonary Atresia. I've had multiple open heart surgeries, spent endless nights in the hosptial, survived cardiac arrest, and countless other heart-related events. Though, these experiences are not all there is to me.
I'm a daughter, a sister, and a friend. I love to read, write, exercise, sing, and indulge in my hundreds of other hobbies. I'm routine-oriented and ambitious. I have a job I love and people around me who make my days whole. These are the pieces that define my story.
Through research and fundraisers like the Heart Walk, children and survivors, like me, are getting a chance to write their own stories that embody every wild, funny, and beautiful part of themselves. That is why I am walking in the Dallas Heart Walk this year! Join my team or donate to support research for congenital heart defects and heart health!
