This year marks my 13th year participating in the American Heart Association’s Heart Walk. I cannot believe it has been so long already!!
The importance of Cardiovascular Health is woven throughout my family’s history; from my mom and dad, to my papa, to my father-in-law. My papa experienced triumphant victory! He recovered from quadruple bypass open heart surgery and blessed my family with 10 more years of memories, laughs, and hugs. My mother and father both had a reality check when it came to stress, high blood pressure and how the combo directly impacts heart health. My father-in-law suffered a sudden cardiac arrest and was taken from us tragically too soon.
There are few people lucky enough to not have been touched by cardiovascular disease or stroke at some point in their life; be it a friend, family member, or even their own personal heart health.
I Heartwalk because I am CHOOSING to live a healthy lifestyle before I’m FORCED to.
I Heartwalk for the millions of people who have been affected and for their loved ones.
I Heartwalk for people just like you and me who want to help make our communities healthier, more active places.
I Heartwalk for My Papa and Father in Law; smiling down on my family every day.
Join me in supporting the American Heart Association! Together, we can make healthier, longer lives possible for everyone.
Thank you in advance for your support!
