Thank you for visiting my Heart Walk Page.
I did my first walk the year before the pandemic. At the time, I was inspired to do so because of heart-related issues my beloved Mom was experiencing as well as the many other individuals touched by heart disease in some way. My family, including myself, have experienced a number of heart issues over the years. Although we are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), as I have been powerfully reminded since my Mom's passing in 2022, the heart has a unique place in our bodies and spirits. In more recent years, my team names (Psalm 34:17 and 147:3) reflected God's Grace in healing broken hearts. This year, during a solo walk, I'm reminded of the importance of guarding our hearts naturally and spiritually, knowing the springs of life flow from them (Proverbs 4:23).
It is sobering to think that 9 out of 10 people who suffer cardiac arrest outside the hospital don’t survive. Tragically, most of the time, it’s because no one nearby performed CPR. Together, we can change that and help promote heart health for all. Extraordinary things can happen when people take action. Heart Walk brings communities together to create health and hope for every heartbeat. Every walker who joins, every dollar donated, means more people trained in CPR, more research and more lifesaving moments for everyone.
Thank you in advance for considering how you might want to join these efforts--as a sponsor, walker, or taking a CPR class.
Peace,
Kim
