I walk for Dart. And for more time together.
In 2022, I lost my husband, Dart, to cardiac arrest following a severe asthma attack.
There is the life you imagine you’ll have together, and then there is the life you have to learn to live without them. The everyday conversations you miss. The milestones they should be here for. The moments when you look at your kids and wish, more than anything, that their dad could see them now.
Dart was my husband. Nyla and Bronx’s dad. Rhonda’s son. Diamante and Warren’s brother. Mike’s best friend. A coach, friend, and colleague to so many. A person we loved, needed, and expected to have more time with.
That is why this walk is personal.
I can’t change what happened to our family. But together, we can honor Dart by supporting work that could help another family have a different ending.
The American Heart Association’s Heart Walk supports lifesaving research, CPR education, and healthier communities. Learning what to do in an emergency can give someone the chance to be here for another birthday, another ordinary evening, another “I love you.”
When you’ve lost someone, you know how much those ordinary moments are worth.
As Noblis’ executive sponsor, I’m asking you to join me in making this year’s Heart Walk count. Sign up. Make time to walk. Invite someone you love. And, if you’re able, donate or help us raise funds.
November 7 is our wedding anniversary.
This year, I’ll spend it walking with my son and Team Noblis in Dart’s memory, carrying my love for the life we shared and hope that more families get the time together we wish we’d had.
For Dart. For the people you love. For more time together.
