My friend and dearest sister, Chinazah, underwent open-heart surgery on March 10, 2026. This surgery required the replacement of her descending aorta and a reconstruction of her left subclavian artery.
Through this ordeal, I had witnessed my sister Chi go through her darkest valley and biggest battle yet. She was challenged physically by the great demand that the surgery had placed on her body. Tried emotionally and mentally with the rises and pitfalls of her recovery. And lastly pushed spiritually with her faith in the Lord. However, throughout her journey through this valley, I saw her steadfastness and persistence. I saw the great strength that she had in completing her rehabilitation exercises down the long, daunting hallways in the ICU ward. Each step brought her closer to her goal, and I saw her look of determination intertwined with her great pain.
Now we see that this journey was merely a showing of her great strength. Chinazah has made a miraculous recovery. We look forward to this year’s heart walk as a celebration of her amazing efforts.
