On March 10, 2026, Chi underwent open-heart surgery involving replacement of her descending aorta and reconstruction of her left subclavian artery.

Years before her own surgery, Chi stood beside her mother as she underwent open-heart surgery. Due to this experience, Chi developed a deep passion for cardiovascular disease awareness. Throughout her career, she has dedicated herself to caring for others as an Emergency Medicine nurse and Cardiac Surgical ICU nurse.

This year, Chi's Heart Walk is a victory walk and a celebration for herself and all family and friends who have supported her through this journey.

Through nights filled with pain, tears, uncertainty, and countless challenges, Chi has made an extraordinary recovery. She has slayed the Goliath and walked in victory!

This year's Heart Walk is more than a walk. It is a celebration and a mark of victory over all Chi has been through.
