In a heartbeat, my life changed, and so did my purpose.
For more than six years, I have been deeply committed to raising awareness about cardiovascular disease through the American Heart Association and the Go Red for Women movement. That commitment comes from lived experience. I live with heart failure, I have survived sudden cardiac arrest and a stroke, and I have witnessed firsthand the power of organ donation through my mother’s successful heart transplant, all while preparing for my own transplant journey in the years ahead.
These experiences shape not only who I am, but how I show up as a leader in our industry. I believe deeply in the power of sharing personal stories. When we allow ourselves to be seen in our human moments, we create space for understanding, empathy, and real connection. That is where community is built.
My goal is to bridge my personal passion with my professional purpose. Through the Heart Walk, I am working to expand awareness around heart disease, particularly in women, increase access to hands-only CPR education, advocate for AED availability at venues and meetings, and encourage organizations to have cardiac emergency plans in place.
Every step taken and every dollar raised supports lifesaving research, education, and local community programs. If my story resonates with you, I invite you to walk alongside me, support this mission, and help turn awareness into action.
Together, we can create more moments of hope, for every heartbeat.
