"He has SVT!" My son, Daniel, Complained to his teacher that his heart was racing. She told him to get a drink and cool down as he had been out at recess. An hour later he spoke with his teacher again. This time she could see his pulse pounding rapidly in his neck. He was sent to the nurse and then I was called. This was the beginning of heart monitoring and testing for us. It happened again at a basketball practice. This time I took him straight to the hospital. He was excited because he was transported by squad to Nationwide Children's Hospital. Fortunately, He is doing just fine today.
A few years later, my father was complaining of being short of breath and having no energy. This couldn't be!? He is in great shape, walks every day and doesn't smoke. Today he has a pacemaker and is back to his daily walks and enjoying life.
I walk in their honor. Please help me raise money to support ongoing research and care for central Ohio.
In a heartbeat, you could be the difference.
9 out of 10 people who suffer cardiac arrest outside the hospital don’t survive. Most of the time, it’s because no one nearby performed CPR. But together, we can change that.
Extraordinary things happen when people take action. A small step. A simple skill. A lifesaving moment. Heart Walk brings communities together to create health and hope for every heartbeat. Every walker who joins, every dollar donated, means more people trained in CPR, more research and more lifesaving moments for everyone.
Extraordinary starts with YOU. Help me reach my goal today!
