Why I Support the American Heart Association and The Central Ohio Heart Walk.
Cardiology isn't just my profession—it's been my life's work.
I began working in cardiology in 2010 at just 20 years old. Over the years, I've had the privilege of caring for countless patients and families affected by heart disease. The number of patient interactions I've had is difficult to comprehend, but each one has reinforced the importance of cardiovascular health, prevention, education, and compassionate care.
My connection to this cause extends far beyond my career.
Several years ago, my father passed away at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center after suffering a severe heart attack at a very young age. Being at his bedside and witnessing the impact of heart disease on someone I loved changed my life forever.
After losing my dad, I stepped away from cardiology for a period of time as I worked through that loss. Eventually, I found my way back to the specialty that had always been such a significant part of my life. Returning to cardiology gave me a renewed sense of purpose and an even deeper appreciation for the patients and families we serve every day.
Today, I am passionate about helping patients navigate some of the most challenging moments of their lives through education, empathy, support, and guidance. Having experienced the fear, uncertainty, and heartbreak that many families face, I connect with this patient population in a deeply personal way.
I participate in the American Heart Association Heart Walk because I believe in the mission of improving cardiovascular health, advancing research, and supporting patients and families affected by heart disease and stroke. Every step we take helps raise awareness, support lifesaving initiatives, and honor those whose lives have been impacted by cardiovascular disease.
For me, this walk is about more than raising funds. It's about honoring my father, supporting my patients, and continuing the work that has defined much of my life.
Thank you for supporting the American Heart Association and the fight against heart disease and stroke.
