On October 22, 2025, I suffered a full cardiac arrest. There were no warning signs. I had no idea I was sick.

Less than 10% of people who experience cardiac arrest at home survive. By the grace of God and the quick response of those around me, I am one of the lucky ones.

I spent 10 days in the ICU, several of those on a ventilator, fighting for my life. Today, I am living with congestive heart failure. I have a pacemaker/defibrillator implanted to keep my heart functioning properly, and I take 12–14 medications each day to support my cardiac health.

To say this experience has been life-changing is an understatement.

Heart disease does not always come with warning signs. It can happen suddenly, without notice — even to someone who feels healthy.
