2026 Bay Area CA Heart Walk
MCSO Cardio Crushers
In a heartbeat, you could be the difference.
A Heart Association statistic is that 9 out of 10 people who suffer cardiac arrest outside the hospital don’t survive. Most of the time, it’s because no one nearby performed CPR. The Heart Walk's goal is to have one person in every household learn "Hands Only CPR" in case you ever need to perform CPR before paramedics arrive.
My husband, Toomas, and I took a Pediatric/Adult CPR class and became certified early December 2025 before we met our first grandchild on our Christmas visit to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Hope we never have to use CPR, but we wanted to be prepared, just in case.
I lost my father to heart failure when I was a sophomore at FAU. I lost my mother to congestive heart failure when my sons were only 4yrs. old and 2 yrs. old. All the medical care can't help unless you learn to live a healthy lifestyle. My husband is a cancer survivor and has AFIB even with a pacemaker defibrilator. Every day is precious.
To be able to raise awareness for heart health is a passion project for me. We walk to save lives and support each other.
We set a donation goal of $1,000 - but the focus is more on camaraderie and supporting each other towards a heart healthy lifestyle.
If you are able to donate - no amount is too small - all custom amounts are appreciated.
When you donate to the American Heart Association, you are joining the fight against our nation's No. 1 and No. 4 killers - heart disease and stroke.
Your donation helps the American Heart Association fund livesaving research, advocate for healthier communities, improve patient care and work for equitable health for all people.
Thank you!
