2026 Pittsburgh Heart Walk
Jared Meyers Movement
Welcome to the Jared Meyers Movement
Hi! My name is Cassidy, and I'm Jared's wife, Griffin's mom, and the captain of the Jared Meyers Movement.
In March 2024, my husband, Jared, passed away suddenly from cardiac arrest at just 28 years old. Our son, Griffin, was only 10 months old at the time, and in an instant, the life we thought we had ahead of us changed forever.
Since losing Jared, I've become passionate about sharing our story—not only to keep his memory alive, but because I believe there is power in showing what life can look like after tremendous loss and in using what happened to our family to help others.
This September, I'm honored to participate in the Pittsburgh Heart Walk with the American Heart Association and walk in Jared's memory. But when I started thinking about what I wanted this team to represent, I knew I wanted it to become about more than just our story.
We want to carry your people with us, too.
Throughout the walk, I'll be wearing bracelets with the names of people in our community who have been impacted by heart disease, cardiac arrest, or stroke.
Whether we're remembering someone we've lost or honoring someone who is still fighting, every bracelet will represent a person, a story, and someone who is deeply loved.
That's what I hope the Jared Meyers Movement can become: a way to take Jared's story and use it to create something bigger than us. A community that remembers the people we've lost, supports the people still fighting, raises awareness about heart health, and helps fund the lifesaving research, education and advocacy of the American Heart Association.
There are so many ways to be part of this movement. You can join our team and walk alongside us, make a donation, share our mission with someone you love, or simply give us the name of someone you'd like us to carry with us.
Because behind every statistic is someone's person.
We're walking for ours.
We'd be honored to walk for yours, too.
Join the Jared Meyers Movement as we walk for the people we love—and for more time.
