Carter's Crew
Carter's Story
Carter was diagnosed with two congenital heart defects at 5 days old. For the first five years of his life, he received great care from his cardiologist, Dr. Wright. In January 2026, further damage to his aortic valve popped up on Carter's annual echocardiogram. From there, Carter was referred to UCSF for open heart surgery, which will be done in May 2026. We look forward to celebrating Carter's strength and recovery at this year's Heart Walk in September.
