Over the last 8 years working for the American Heart Association, I have met survivors, families, volunteers, and advocates whose stories have forever changed me. Every Heart Walk season reminds me that this mission is deeply personal for so many people in our community.
I've listened to parents share gratitude for more time with their children, survivors celebrate milestones they once feared they'd never reach, and families honor loved ones lost too soon to heart disease and stroke. Those moments are what continue to inspire me year after year.
The Heart Walk is more than just an event - it's a movement fueled by hope, resilience, and a shared commitment to creating longer, healthier lives. I walk because of the people I've met, the stories I carry with me, and the lives we still have the opportunity to impact together.
