On February 13th, 2026, my life changed forever.

My older brother, Jon, is a jokester that always did small things to make us laugh. While in the ICU, he suddenly went into cardiac arrest and caregivers sprung into action, performing advanced cardiac life support. After 12-14 minutes of being out and receiving two shocks, he was resuscitated but suffered an anoxic brain injury due to the lack of oxygen to his brain. Jon is currently between an unresponsive wakefulness and minimally conscious state, requiring around the clock care at a facility. 

I am eternally grateful to the caregivers that saved his life, provide him care, and am hopeful that he continues to recover and make us laugh like he did before.
