In a heartbeat, you could be the difference.

9 out of 10 people who suffer cardiac arrest outside the hospital don’t survive. Most of the time, it’s because no one nearby performed CPR. But together, we can change help increase survival rates.

Personally I experienced a massive heart attack in August of 2024 on an airplan returning to Milwaukee from a business trip. Thankfully I did not suffer cardian arrest however the ariline was extremely helpful in getting us to Milwaukee fast. They also communicated with Mitchell Ariport to have Paramedics waiting at the gate to get on the plane and escort me off into the terminal where I was met by EMT's and paramedics from the Oak Creek Fire Department. Both teams were instrumental in my surivival. They acted swiftly and did all the right things to ensure I got the care I needed. I was rushed from the airport via ambulance to St. Lukes hosptial and was taken into an emergency procedure to place a stent in my 100% LAD artery (the widowmaker) and later received two more stents in my RCA nad Circumflex arteries. 

Without the quick thinking of the Oak Creek paramedics and EMT's I wouldn't have made it to the hospital.  I was LUCKY to be where I was when I was. The story can be much more detailed and could have been much worse if not for so many things working in my favor.  This could have been much worse but also a primary reason for me working with AHA and showing appreciation for first responders, healthcare providers and others who helped me along the way. Not everyone gets the same positive outcome I have experienced and I want to help INFLUENCE change to ensure more people can help, more people get checked out and more people are educated about all things relative to personal health of themselves and loved ones.
