My "why" for participating in the American Heart Walk comes from the people I have had the privilege of meeting and the experiences I have gained while working at Alaska Heart and Vascular Institute.
While I do not have a direct family connection to cardiac disease, over the past several years working at AHVI, I have met some of the most incredible patients and have seen firsthand how important heart health and cardiac care truly are. Every patient has a story, and every person walking through our doors is facing their own journey.
Working in healthcare has shown me the impact that compassion, education, prevention, and quality care can have on someone's life. It has made me want to continue being part of something that helps people, whether that is through the work I do every day, participating in events like the Heart Walk, or helping raise awareness for a cause that affects so many.
The support and donations raised through the American Heart Walk make a real difference. They help fund lifesaving research, improve education and awareness, support prevention efforts, and help create better treatments and resources for those affected by heart disease. Every donation helps move us closer to a future where more people can live longer, healthier lives.
I believe every step counts. Whether it is a walk, a run, a donation, or simply sharing awareness, small actions can create a big impact. I want to help make a difference in the lives of those affected by heart disease and support the continued work being done to improve heart health in our community.
Thank you for supporting me, supporting this mission, and helping take steps toward a healthier future for so many.
