Hi friends and family! I'm partaking in the American Heart Association's 5K Heart Walk this year and would love your help gathering support and donations for this cause!
As many of you know, I'm a medical speech therapist and work at a neuro rehab clinic, Centre for Neuro Skills, where we treat primarily patients with TBI or stroke. The heart and heart health are at the foundation of so many aspects of our holistic health and poor general health or reduced access to preventative, timely care significantly increases the risk of stroke and/or other medical complications, which can impact the brain and therefore every aspect of our lives! This cause is important to me because I'm passionate about improving access to health care via community health programs, research, and public advocacy - all of which are supported by the donations collected at the AHA Heart Walk.
The walk takes place October 3 at the Rosebowl in Pasadena, CA so I'd love if you're able to join us in person for the 1-miler or 5k walk (free to join!) and/or make a donation of any amount to help me meet my goal!
If you donate $25 or more, I'll also mail you a cute shirt and a hand written thank you note as a token of appreciation!
In a heartbeat, you could be the difference.
9 out of 10 people who suffer cardiac arrest outside the hospital don't survive. Most of the time, it's because no one nearby performed CPR. But together, we can change that.
Extraordinary things happen when people take action. A small step. A simple skill. A lifesaving moment. Heart Walk brings communities together to create health and hope for every heartbeat. Every walker who joins, every dollar donated, means more people trained in CPR, more research and more lifesaving moments for everyone.
Extraordinary starts with YOU. Help me reach my goal today!
