In a heartbeat, everything can change.

I know because it happened to me.

I survived a hemorrhagic stroke that changed my life in an instant. One moment I was living my normal life, and the next I was fighting to regain things I had never imagined I could lose—the ability to walk, move my left side, and simply live independently.

My recovery has taught me that surviving a stroke is only the beginning.

Recovery happens one step at a time. Some days those steps are big. Some days they are barely noticeable. But every step matters.

That is why our team is called HERE UNBROKEN.

I'm still here. I'm still fighting. And I'm still moving forward.

I'm walking in the Heart & Stroke Walk not only for myself, but for every stroke survivor fighting to regain a piece of the life they had before. I'm walking for the families and caregivers who stand beside us. I'm walking for those we've lost. And I'm walking to bring greater awareness to stroke—because knowing the warning signs, understanding the risks, supporting research, and acting quickly can save lives.

Every day is a second chance.
