In a heartbeat, you could be the difference.
This cause is personal to me.
My father fought heart disease for 40 years — longer than many people ever get to keep someone they love. Last month, we lost him. And while I'm still finding my footing in a world without him, I know with certainty that the work the American Heart Association does here in San Diego and across the globe gave our family time we would not have had otherwise. Time for more conversations, more memories, more moments that I will carry with me forever.
That's why I'm on the Executive Leadership Team for the 2026 San Diego Heart and Stroke Walk and why this year, I'm walking in his honor and for every family still in the fight.
9 out of 10 people who suffer cardiac arrest outside the hospital don't survive. Most of the time, it's because no one nearby performed CPR. But together, we can change that.
Extraordinary things happen when people take action. A small step. A simple skill. A lifesaving moment. Heart Walk brings communities together to create health and hope for every heartbeat. Every walker who joins, every dollar donated means more people trained in CPR, more research funded, and more lifesaving moments for more families like mine.
If you've ever loved someone with heart disease or stroke, you understand the gift of time. Help us give that gift to someone else.
Extraordinary starts with YOU. Join our team today or support us by donating toward our fundraising goal. Do it in memory of someone you've loved. Do it for someone still fighting. Do it because one day, it might matter to someone you haven't even met yet.
With Gratitude,
Nicole
