On 11/30/2025, while waiting for my wife to get ready to take my Mom to see the movie Wicked 2, I suddenly had cardiac arrest. Thanks to the quick actions of my wife in calling 911, despite being dead for 6 minutes, the paramedics were able to resuscitate me and save my life. The next 6 days I was in a coma. 19 days later I was out of the hospital. Since then it's been a long road. I now have a defibrillator installed in my chest as a precaution.
I have run 91 marathons and yet coming back from Cardiac Arrest has been extremely difficult. I am trying to get back to running but I fight low stamina and energy levels. It's been a very slow process. My father passed away in 2014 from a heart attack. Heart disease runs in my family. This is something very close to my heart. I never thought I would be a survivor though. I struggle with it every day but thankful I'm still here
