My Heart Walk Story
Never thought at 33 I'd have to worry about my heart, but here we are...
Early September, I was unexpectedly hospitalized for over a week and was diagnosed with severe heart failure and non-ischemic cardiomyopathy. Basically, my heart wasnt pumpimg enough blood as effectively as it should (15% EF), and my heart muscle had become weakened without blocked arteries being the cause. A life scare for sure, I am lucky to have caught it before it was too late. It was definetly a wake up call, and it changed the way I look at my health, my lifestyle, and my future. I want to give a huge shoutout to the nurses, doctors, and cardiologists at Lowell General Hospital who took care of me during my stay. I’m so grateful for how kind, knowledgable, and supportive they were while I was going through such a scary and overwhelming time. I am forever in their debt!
Since then, I’ve been focused on getting my heart stronger, taking better care of myself, and making some major changes in my life. I am sober and I am the healthiest (minus my heart issue) I've ever felt. One day at a time obviously, I'm still human at the end of the day. When I decided to participate in the Boston Heart Walk, it felt like the perfect way to turn a pretty unexpected chapter of my life into something positive. I’ve been really lucky to have such an amazing support system around me through all of this, and I’d love to have some of you by my side for the walk. If you’d like to join me and walk together, reach out!! The more the merrier.
My goal is to raise $1,000. Any and every donation counts. I’m excited to get out there, walk with some friends & fam, raise awareness, and do something good with an experience that definitely changed my perspective and life. Cheers to a stronger heart, a healthier future, and taking life one beat at a time.
Team Heart of the Party or Team My Heart Will Go On?
